Outline of Treatment approach
I am a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and owner of AB Psychology Melbourne, a private practice located in Kew. My areas of interest are in Anxiety Disorders, Health Psychology, and Depression, and the main therapeutic approaches I use are CBT, Mindfulness, and ACT. Prior to starting private practice, I spent many years working in hospitals, public mental health, and in research roles.
My personal style of therapy is supportive and collaborative. I strive to create a safe space for you to be able to talk freely and without shame. I believe that by taking the time to listen and reflect on your concerns, we can together shed light on the issues important to you and come up with effective ways to manage them. In therapy, I am to:
• Empower you with the tools and strategies you need to manage low mood, anxiety, stress, or illness now and in the long-term.
• Identify and address your personal barriers to mental and physical health.
• Support you in facing the fears that are holding you back from living a life that is meaningful to you.
• Be an open, judgement-free space for you to gain insights and new perspectives.
• Effect real, positive changes in your life outside the therapy room.
I offer bulk-billing for the initial appointment so that you can have the opportunity to meet me and find out what therapy can offer you with no out-of-pocket expenses.
