ADAVIC - BERNIE'S BIKE RIDE NO. 7

Sunday 2nd March 2008
City, Bay, St Kilda
Start time: 10.30 am

We will meet at Southbank (Prince’s Bridge end at the start of the food court) at 10.30am. We will start by carefully cycling along Southbank, past the Crown Casino, past Jeff’s Shed and joining the Sandridge Light Rail path at Montague Street. This follows the light rail line with a park on the right bordered by an interesting variety of 19th and 20th century homes. We then arrive at Station Pier, Port Melbourne where snacks, drinks and coffee can be purchased from the Beacon Cove IGA.

We then follow the Bay foreshore trail to St. Kilda where we can look at the pier, have coffee or check out the markets or maybe even take a quick dip at the beach. We can either return the same way or via Albert Park Lake by passing under the light rail line into Deakin Street. Most of the roads in Albert Park will be closed for traffic in preparation for the F1 Grand Prix the following weekend.

We then return to Southbank and those that have traveled by train can then catch a train from Flinders Street station.
Please note:
That in the interests of health and safety, the ride will NOT go ahead if temperatures are expected to exceed 30 degrees.
