Something to ponder on
Something to ponder on
by Eva Savov
A horrific crime was committed against the right to live through an instant mass destruction. My body was numb, my heart full of sadness as I watched the planes crash into the buildings and then see the buildings collapse into nothingness. Thousands of people died instantly. Men, women, husbands, wives, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, friends, lovers. The whole world stops, watches and grieves for the lives that have ceased to be. What a fine line there is between life and death?
The attack on America was a tragedy and a lot of innocent people died. What saddened me even more was it took a destruction of such magnitude for the world to unite even for a brief moment to send loving and healing thoughts.
On talk back radio I heard a lot of people call expressing their sorrows, grief, anger and disbelief. Also a lot of people called in to express how this tragedy made them realise certain voids within their lives. My heart goes out to all the people who are left grieving for the loss of their loved ones. My heart goes out to all the people who waited for this tragedy to realise certain voids within their lives. My heart also goes out to those who have rejoiced this tragedy; unfortunately they will live a life and never know or feel the true essence of love.
Today can be the last day of your life, this can be the last breath you take, and these can be the last words you read. Have you really lived the life you wanted, have said the words you wanted to say?
Life is too short to live in fear, no matter what always speak your hearts truth and dare to be alive, don't wait for the right time or right opportunity. Don't you know that the right time or opportunity may come to pass and never to return?
Tragedies happen everyday. We cannot change the past and the future may not arrive. We are here right now and what we choose to do right now is what will make a difference. So together lets send our prayers and love to all the families left grieving, to all the rescue teams for their bravery and courage, to those who died while trying to save lives, to the pilots and passengers, to the survivors and witnesses and finally send a prayer of love, peace and healing to the whole world.
"Love is goodness and honour and peace and pure living.it is the best thing in the world and the thing that lives the longest." Henry Van Dyke.
